What perforation patterns can FortiFab manufacture?

We produce round, square, and obround (slotted) perforations in straight or staggered patterns. Our CNC turret punching and fiber laser systems handle complex geometries with precision.

What are the minimum and maximum hole sizes?

Minimum hole diameter is typically 0.040" (1mm). Maximum depends on material thickness and tooling, typically up to 2" diameter. Custom tooling available - contact engineering for special requirements.

Which materials can be perforated?

Aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, copper, brass, and other sheet metals up to 0.1875" thick for punching, or up to 1" for laser cutting depending on material.

How is open area percentage calculated?

Open area is the ratio of hole area to total sheet area. For round holes: (π × diameter²/4) / (pitch × pitch) × 100. Our designer handles this automatically.
